SPIRITS WITH A SOUL

We are proud to champion green leadership, integrating eco-conscious practices into every aspect of our operations.

Our commitment to sustainability is a way of life that permeates every decision we make. We are honored to have been recognized for our efforts, as the most sustainable brand at the 2023 Chilled Awards in New York and at the 2023 EuroCham SME CSR Awards in Phnom Penh. Here are a few of the things we are up to in our continuous mission to minimise negative impact of our operations and contribute positively to the natural and social environments we operate in.

PACKAGING REDUCTION & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Seekers Spirit House is an industry leader in Cambodia with sustainable sourcing and practices.

REFILL NOT LANDFILL

Trade and retail customers are encouraged to return their used bottles of Seekers so we can reuse them. They are given $1 off the next purchase with every bottle returned

Our volume trade accounts can purchase 5L pouches that they can refill existing bottles with, which further reduces the environmental impact of bottle shipments and recycling.

$1 OFF any purchase
at Seekers Sprit House with every
bottle you return.

UPCYCLING

We produce a range of ready to drink cocktails for partners such as KUNG FU KITCHEN & RAFFLES HOTELS, reusing SINGHA SODA WATER bottles and unbranded BEER BOTTLES.

The used bottles are cleaned and sterilized before being refilled. In this way we create a close-looped system which has a huge impact on packaging reduction and transport energy savings.

You can contribute by bringing us your empties and save as much glass as possible from ending up in landfill

REFILL HUBS

Bring an empty spirit bottle to any of our 'refill hubs' and refil your bottles with Seekers core spirits.

COMMUNITY RECYCLING

GLASS - We are proud to now be an official recycling point in the community recycling Initiative 'Pay it forward Glass Recycling', which collects and transports glass bottles to the GAEA Waste Management Facility.

As part of our own upcycling program at Seekers, we will not charge for any glass that we are able to reuse at the distillery. For other glass 500 riels per KG is requested as contribution to GAEA for transportation.

PLASTIC - We are collecting plastic waste both from our operations and the wider community, which we then send for recycling at Trash is Nice, based at Trillion Park.

Bring us your plastics and we will make sure they get properly recycled!

PRODUCTION / operations

EFFICIENCY - ENERGY

In our production process we aim to reduce energy usage as much as possible, which was one of the deciding factors in our decision about which distillation system to invest in. Our new iSTILL cuts running costs of traditional distillation by 90% & conserves up to 25% of energy.

This state of the art equipment also constantly measures air pressure, temperature and water pressure, adjusting the distillation process accordingly, thereby creating a much more efficiently produced and consistent product.

WASTE&PACKAGING REDUCTION

We have a waste reduction policy and minimise waste from our production and F&B operations as much as possible through re-purposing into other products / uses.

WASTE SEPARATION - we separate as much of our waste as possible which then gets recycled & up-cycled where possible. We are currently separating:

Glass | Plastic | Paper | Carton | Aluminium | Batteries | Corks | Organic.

ORGANIC WASTE

We are working towards zero waste as much as possible & repurpose our organic waste where possible. Some current projects in pipeline or in action:
> Organic waste from bar operations is composted on site.
> Coffee grounds from our Coffee Liqueur production soaked and used as fertilizer.
> Off cuts from the citrus we use on our Orange Liqueur & Mekong Dry Gin gets made into marmalade which we use on our cheese boards & will be selling in our retail store soon!
> Botanical waste from distillation to be sent to farms for feed or fertilization. (pipeline)

SOURCING

We choose to source from farmers employing healthy farming practices and organic production where possible.

Apart from the Juniper berries in our gin, everything else is sourced from the Mekong region. We are committed to working with local farmers. We pay a fair price and try to be involved as much as we can in the entire sourcing journey.

WATER CONSERVATION

We built a water management system at our Spirit House in order to minimise the water wastage in our production process. Our closed-circuit system helps us reduce up to 95% of the water consumed in the distillation process.

GARDEN TO GLASS

The Seekers Botanical Garden showcases over 60 native flora from the Mekong Region. The Herbs, spice, fruits, flowers, and trees compliment the culinary & cocktail offerings, and provide an introduction to the botanicals used in Seekers spirits that are responsibly sourced from farmers throughout the region.

The garden also contributes to creating more green space and encouraging biodiversity within city limits.
